It was a pleasure working with Ling and Ben as they are such a sweet, fun couple. It was definitely an entertaining day! Ben's Dad made us laugh when he wore his Cowboy Hat for the morning pictures. Ling made us laugh when she fought off all the guys who wanted to "pants" poor Ben!
They exchanged their vows at the St. Mary's Cathedral and partied the night away at the Delta Winnipeg. Madeline's Weddings decorated the room and it looked fabulous!
Overall it was a great day and we are so glad our paths crossed!
We filmed one of the most emotionally filled weddings with Kerry and Les.
2 of our favourite moments from their day included Les's touching vows to Kerry (you can see a snippet in their highlights below) and Kerry's dad breaking down during his speech saying "he wished he still had that little doll at home".
They held both their beautiful ceremony and reception at the Victoria Inn. We once again had the chance to work with Joel Ross who is one of Winnipeg's best photographers. Be sure to check his site out.
Thanks again Kerry and Les for giving us the chance to be a part of your special day!
On a cold February day, we had the pleasure to shoot Andrea and Wayne.
Their video looked awesome with Wayne's RCMP uniform against Andrea's beautiful white wedding dress.
The funniest part of the day was during the ceremony when the officiant mentioned the word "Christ" and Andrea's son blurted out "He said a bad word!". Hilarious!
We once again shot with one of our favourite photographers, Manuel F Sousa.
Thanks again Andrea & Wayne for choosing Lori & I to relive your day!
These 3 elite photographers named IL FOTO, shot their $20,000 photography package on September 25th, 2009 for the lucky winners, Candace & Mike. We were honoured when Trevor asked us to film their photo shoot. We are so fortunate to have such a great working relationship with 3 of the best photographers in the city!
Hey all! We wanted to take this opportunity to catch up on some wedding blogs that we have not had a chance to post. We have been so busy this year with weddings and special events, that we have taken every opportunity to keep up with editing videos for our valued clients. Not to mention the amount of time committed to all the kids' extra curricular activities! We thank all of our clients for their support and unbelievable patience.
The following blogs will include: Mara & Sal Keely & Don Chris & Kim Krista & Marc
Lori & I were stoked to have the chance to shoot our first "Elopement" for Krista & Marc. It was so weird being in a church for a ceremony when there was nobody else in there!
Thanks Krista and Marc for giving us this rare opportunity to be there on your special day.
Kim & Chris exchanged their vows and partied the night away at The Gates on Roblin. One of our favourite moments of the day was when Chris and Kim first saw each other before the photograph session. The anticipation and work up to that moment was so exciting and great to capture on video. This included Kim's mom's emotional reaction to seeing Kim in her wedding dress.
We had the opportunity to work with one of our favourite photographers, Manny Sousa who is always so much fun!
Thanks so much Kim and Chris for giving us the opportunity to be with you on your very special day!
We had a blast shooting Keely & Don on one of the HOTTEST days in August. The temperature inside the church was probably 20 degrees hotter than outside!
Don is a firefighter so they decided to have some unique photos at the Fire Museum.
The night ended off with a fun rivalry between Rider and Blue Bomber fans at the reception that was held at the Marlborough Hotel.
Thanks a ton Keely & Donnie for giving us the opportunity to capture your big day!
We had a great time filming Mara and Sal on their great day! They had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Rosh Pina Synagogue. It was our first time shooting there.
Mara & Sal were such a great couple to work with. Our day always goes much smoother when we spend the day with easy going BNG's. Thanks so much for giving us a chance to capture your special day. Good luck in sunny California!
We also had the opportunity to shoot with Joel Ross who is one of our faves.
We apologize for taking so long to start posting blogs again. We have been unbelievably busy and we feel so fortunate to have had such a great year.
Lori and I have had probably the busiest year with Weddings, Training Videos, Sports, Events, Grads, and Dance Recitals. We are so fortunate to have had such a great season so far!!
Unfortunately, we have been lacking in the Blog department because of this. We apologize. But we will be back blogging soon and we will soon be up and running on Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for all of your patience, and we'll "Blog" to you all soon!
In the meantime, enjoy this video which unfortunately we didn't capture:
Carmen and Jason tied the knot in and outside ceremony at the Breezy Bend Country Club and ended the night with an elegant reception at the same venue.
Lori and I met Carmen and Jason for the first time on the day of their wedding as all the planning was done by Carmen's mom, Sandy. We immediately felt comfortable and at ease when we started the day with this great couple and family.
We were also treated to some very unique and awesome locations thanks to the very talented photographer, Jeremy Dueck. (Check out his photos further down.) We started in Headingly and made our way towards LaSalle along the South Perimeter stopping whenever anything caught Jeremy's eye.
Thank You Carmen and Jason for giving us the opportunity to film your most important day!
On another one of the many rainy Saturdays of 2008, Erin and Milos tied the knot at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. It was the first ceremony that we shot at this beautiful church.
Their reception was held at the Fort Garry Hotel and I don't think Lori and I have ever been surrounded by so many dentists! It was also the first Serbian party we have attended and man do they know how to celebrate. Throw some Ukrainians into the mix and it just adds to the fun!
Lori and I were also blown away watching Milos perform. This guy cannot only fix your teeth but he can sing too!
We were also honoured to have Erin and Milos appear on Global News from video we submitted for a wedding spot they were covering. Check it out further down.
We once again had the opportunity to work with William Au who did the photography. He is always great to work with and his work is fantastic. He definitely falls into our top 10 photographers in the city. Check out some of the pics further down.
Thanks again Milos and Erin for being so great on your special day. It was a pleasure capturing all of your special moments!
Marissa and Neil were married in "Trinidad" like weather on one of the hottest Saturdays of the summer.
Their ceremony was held at the Immanuel Pentecostal Church with the reception at the Hilton Suites.
This couple and their families and friends know how to PARTY! The Hilton staff said they never went through so many "beverages" as they did with this wedding! Marissa's parents had to order extra "vino" for dinner! The night was a lot of fun with a Caribbean feel.
They probably had the best MC in the city host the reception. Charles Edwards, who happens to be a personal friend of ours, almost stole the show. Trust us, we have seen alot of MC's, and Chuck definitely blew them all away.
We also had the privilege of working with Frank Yong, who did the photography. He is always a blast to talk technical stuff with. Check out his photos further down.
Anyways, back to Marissa and Neil as it was their day! Marissa is a very funny girl. When they came to pick up the videos, she had Lori and I busting a gut with laughter. We found it so cute how Neil would just giggle while Marissa "comedied" on! They must have so much fun together!
Oh yeah, special shout out to Lucille who is always on our blog. Thanks for increasing our visitor hits! (You better leave a comment!)
Lori and I were very honoured when Trina Maus of Global TV asked us to provide footage from our previous weddings to be shown on their news program. Two of our favourite couples were shown as "B-Roll" footage on a feature called "Affordable Weddings". They were Nicole and Martin and Erin and Milos. Our buddy, Joel Ross, one of Winnipeg's elite photographers also made the "cut"!
Lori and I are currently experimenting with High Definition Video that we will be offering in the near future. We are testing different cameras, software, and computer hardware in our process to make this happen. We want to make sure we can produce the best quality end product for our clients before making it available in our packages.
For a sneak peek, check out one of our Hi Def examples here
Lori and I had the pleasure of filming 2 of the most likable people you will ever meet. Kim married Rod at a beautiful ceremony held at the Royal Crown in Fort Garry Place. It felt neat working on a Friday and it was great having a Saturday off. I wish there were more weddings like that!
I had the opportunity to film at one of the coolest locations for a groom's photograph session. We shot Rod and the boys at his Dad's airplane close to Teulon Manitoba. Check out the video:
Scott, Rod's brother's speech was very entertaining and emotional. He had a little bit called "Fun Rod, Work Rod" We just had to post it:
We also had a great time working with Jocelyne of Reflections by Jocelyne Brown photography. She was very upbeat and energetic which always makes our jobs so much easier. Check out her photos further down.
Thank you Rod and Kim for giving us the opportunity to not only film your big day but also having the pleasure of meeting you both!
On probably the rainiest day of the year, we filmed Lori & Mike on their wedding day. They had a traditional Ukrainian wedding at the St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church and an elegant reception at the Breezy Bend Country Club.
We have to mention that one of the funniest things we saw at a ceremony was when the Best Man, Ricky adjusted the back of Mike's tuxedo at the same time the Maid of Honour adjusted Lori's dress!
Trevor and I(Don) were having a nice chat just outside the Buttercup Beauty Bar booth at the Wonderful Wedding Show when one of the ladies approached Trevor and asked if he would like to have his eyebrows "threaded". He thought about it and almost declined until I offered to film him having it done. Of course Trevor jumped at the chance to be in front of a camera instead of behind one!
Just so you know:
"Threading is an ancient method of hair removal used to give clean lines and good shape to the eyebrows and hairs on the face.
Threading involves rolling twisted pure cotton threads over untidy hairlines to pluck hair. The threading pulls out a whole row of hair which contrasts to the tweezing of individual hairs."
I (Don) first became involved in the "Video" Industry when I previously sold Professional Camera and Editing Equipment with Sony of Canada in British Columbia. I had specific training from Sony on how to use the equipment in order to train my various clients I had in the Vancouver area.
Once editing software became more readily available, Lori and I decided to jump into the Wedding Videography Industry. With my technical experience and Lori's unbelievable creativity, we have the unique opportunity to have a career in which we give our clients the chance to relive their most important day...
